The Life Digital Mastercard® is a prepaid card that you store on your mobile phone. Top up your card quickly and easily via the Swiss Bankers app and make your (online) purchases securely.
Who is the card for?
The card offers a convenient solution for mobile payments in-store or for online purchases. Since it is not linked to a bank account and must be topped up with credit, the card offers additional security when shopping online. The reloadable card is particularly ideal for schoolchildren, students and all people to set a budget and keep track of spending.
How does the digital card work?
With the digital card, all payment information is stored on your smartphone. Once you have activated the card for mobile payments via a mobile wallet provider (such as Apple, Google, Samsung Pay) in the Swiss Bankers app, you can simply hold your smartphone to the payment terminal to make the payment.
You will need the card information to make online payments. Simply open the Swiss Bankers app to view the card number, expiry date and CVC and complete the payment process with this information. As an additional security measure, most online shops will ask you to perform two-factor authentication, which you can do with a single click in the Swiss Bankers app.
How do I order the card?
Ordering is quick and easy:
To order the card, you must be resident in Switzerland and at least 18 years old. You will also need to provide a passport or ID card so that we can verify your details. If you are not Swiss, please also have your B/C/Ci permit ready. To ensure that everything goes smoothly, an agent will contact you via video call and guide you through the order process.
How much does the card cost?
The card costs CHF 2.90 per month. The monthly card fee is waived for the first three months. You can find all the terms and conditions here.
Is the card only available in digital format?
Yes, the Life Digital card is only available as a digital card. With the Life card, we offer a similar product that is issued as a physical card. You can find more information here.
How can I top up the card?
You can top up your card using the following payment methods:
Tip: Set up a standing order so that your card is always topped up. Your personal reference number will not change.
How quickly can the card be recharged?
You can load money onto the card via e-banking within one working day. If you execute the payment order in the morning, the amount is usually on the card by the afternoon. If you load the card using a debit, credit or PostFinance card, the loading is usually completed within 15 minutes.
How much credit can I top up?
Your card balance can be a maximum of CHF 10,000. You can load up to CHF 100,000 on the card every year. The minimum top-up amount is CHF 100.

Can I withdraw cash with the card?
You will still need a physical card for older ATMs. You can use your mobile wallet (such as Google, Samsung, Apple Pay) to withdraw cash from newer models with a reader for contactless transactions.
Terms and conditions: Entry is open until 30 November 2026 using the registration form. The winner will be chosen at random. The winner will be notified by 31 December 2026 at the latest to the e-mail address provided on the registration form. Only one prize can be won per person. The prizes cannot be accumulated and no cash payment is offered.
Employees of Swiss Bankers and their dependants are not eligible to take part in the prize draw. Dependants are defined as spouses or registered partners, children, parents, siblings and any other persons living in the same household.
